Qantas has just completed the longest-ever trip by a commercial airline with a 19-hour-16-minute direct flight from New York City to Sydney. Its Boeing 787 Dreamliner departed JFK Airport at 9.27 p.m. local time on Friday and landed at Sydney International Airport 10,200 miles (16,200 km) away at 7.43 a.m. local time on Sunday.
