On July 25, 2025,Nintendo announcedthat it would be taking legal action against Genki after they leaked unofficial “mockups and renderings” of the Nintendo Switch 2. The third-party accessory manufacturer originally showed products duringCES 2025, giving players an early glimpse at how the upcoming system would look ahead of its June 5 release.

The Japanese video game company also insists Genki had “misrepresented” and confused Nintendo’s fans into thinking they could provide compatible accessories.
