Age of Mythology: Retold, the remastered version of the 2002 strategy game, will receive its first major expansion centered on Chinese mythology, featuring all kinds of new fascinating units and creatures.

Chinese Mythology Comes to Age of Mythology: Retold

During the Xbox conference at the recently held Tokyo Game Show, the first expansion for Age of Mythology: Retold was announced, titledImmortal Pillars,with Chinese mythology as the main focus.

This announcement was made with a teaser trailer, which you’re able to watch below, showing off the fantastic look of this new faction.

Age of Mythology: Retold Presents Its First Expansion: Immortal Pillars

“Unleash the power of Chinese mythology in the first expansion forAge of Mythology: Retold, Immortal Pillars. Discover a new pantheon of gods, legendary mythical units, and amazing divine powers in an epic campaign inspired by ancient legends.Summon the fierce goddess Nüwa, command Chiyou, the bull-headed god of war, and invoke Nüba, the tireless bringer of drought. Control the skies with Yinglong, the mighty flying rain dragon, and much more,” says the description of this expansion.

It’s worth noting thatAge of Mythology: Extended Edition (2014)already had an expansion featuring Chinese mythology titledTale of the Dragon, which was released in 2016 but received terrible reviews. We assume they may have reused some of that content, but this time aiming to do things much better.
