Remedy Entertainmenthas released abusiness reviewoutlining the current and future plans of the company. Notably, Remedy has confirmed thatAlan Wake 2remains on track for its planned 2023 release date.

The majority of Remedy’s revenue has been re-invested into funding the development of Alan Wake 2 and Codename Condor (a spinoff of theControlseries). The highly-anticipated sequel will be launched as planned, according to the report. “There is a lot of work to be done, but the game is coming together on all fronts” it reads. The report predicts Alan Wake 2 will launch as an “excellent game.”

As for Codename Condor, it’s in the “proof of concept” stage. The document reads “Our development team has discovered smart ways to utilize the world of Control, as well as designs that ensure a cooperate player experience that fits into the world of Condor.” Promisingly, “Gameplay already in this early phase feels fun.”

Being developed alongside Condor is Codename Heron, “a bigger-budget Control game.” This project is currently in its concept stage. Development has been going well and the team has been expanded but will be kept at a moderate size to ensure the game can be appropriately conceptualised and prototyped.

The briefing touches upon Vanguard (also a codename), a co-op multiplayer game being co-published byTencent. This is likely the game referred to in the report that isn’t using a Remedy-owned intellectual property. The upcoming game aims to be “an expansive service-based free-to-play game with a rich world and selected new elements…” Vanguard, like Condor, is currently in its proof-of-concept phase.

Remedy admits that its short-term profitability has taken a hit because the company has been absorbing more development costs than in the past. However, the briefing is confident that this will result in higher consumer revenue and royalties in the future. After Alan Wake 2, Remedy aims to have several major game launches in 2024 and 2025.

Alan Wake 2 is planned to release in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
