Today,Deadlinereports that Gabriel Ferrari andAndrew Barrerhave finalized their deals forAnt-Man and the Wasp, along with new details about how the story is being crafted. This new report reveals thatAdam McKaywill helpPaul Rudd, Gabriel Ferrari andAndrew Barrerbreak the story, before the trio goes off to write the script together, withoutAdam McKay.
This summer’sAnt-Manwas originally written byEdgar WrightandJoe Cornish, who both received story credit and shared screenplay credit withPaul RuddandAdam McKay. AfterEdgar Wrightbacked away from directing,Paul RuddandAdam McKaycame aboard to rewrite the script. Both Gabriel Ferrari andAndrew Barrerwere brought on as the production writers, putting in six months of work on the script while principal photography was under way, although they were never credited for the first film.
Ant-Man’s end credits scene featured Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) showing his daughter Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) the Wasp suit that he designed for her, which will certainly be put to use inAnt-Man and the Wasp.Evangeline Lillyteased possiblePhase 3plans for Wasp, aside fromAnt-Man and the Wasp, since she recently had a costume fitting. It was revealed towards the end ofAnt-Manthat Janet was lost in the Quantum Realm and never returned, but after Scott Lang managed to come back from this mysterious place, it’s certainly possible that Janet may come back as well.Evangeline Lillyhas even lobbied forMichelle Pfeifferto play her on-screen mother, but we probably won’t hear about casting for quite some time, since the sequel isn’t hitting theaters until July 17, 2025.

The scribes were also part of Paramount’swriters roomfor the lucrativeTransformersfranchise. They are set to write the script for ananimated prequel, tentatively titled Transformers One, which is set on theTransformers' home planet of Cybertron.
