Helldivers 2’s latest patch is quite controversial for many reasons: earlier it was the problem withmechs not meeting expectations, but now the attention has turned to the sudden spike in difficulty.

While people originally felt that the problem was due to changes to the weapons, that’s not the only reason. Apparently, a ton of enemies have subtly received buffs in a variety of facets—but the most problematic one seems to be completely nullifying any and every stealth tactic that players try out.

This is obvious when you throw stratagems from far away or stray bullets hit a rock on the other side of an objective; any enemies close to where the stratagem or bullet lands immediately heads to your location, regardless of how hidden you are or how hard you move to remain out of their line of sight.
The user, LucyShortForLucas, shared an example where patrols, after encountering landmines that they had placed, instantly turned towards them, even when out of sight and using stealth armor.

Later on, while the player was at another objective, a patrol coincidentally managed to run into landmines left behind and ran straight across the map, charging toward them.

With how much the game emphasizes teamwork, it’s no wonder players are disappointed.
Why bother working with others to strategically take down enemies if they magically know where you are at the slightest breath taken?
