Baldur’s Gate 3 sets a date for Patch 8, the definitive update to Larian’s RPG, featuring 12 new subclasses, cross-play, and photo mode—among other additions—all available to download in just a few days.

The journey of Baldur’s Gate 3the epic RPG forPS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC—is coming to an end; but before signing off, it’s getting a major final update.
It’s Larian’s parting gift before shifting focus to their next project—a brand-new IP that remains under wraps. Meanwhile, Hasbro has announced its intention to continue developing the Baldur’s Gate license in the future.

That’s for later. For now,Baldur’s Gate 3is getting Patch 8, following a leak on PS5 and an intense round of internal testing.
Patch 8 Arrives April 15
In just a few days, players onPlayStation, Xbox, and PCwill be able to dive into the last major update to one of the greatest RPGs of all time.
To celebrate the release, Larian will host a live Twitch stream featuring Aoife Wilson, Senior Communications Developer, and Systems Designer Ross Stephens.

The stream will cover everything included inPatch 8—most notably, the 12 new subclasses being added for all players.
12 New Subclasses for Every Class
Each class—Bard, Barbarian, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Fighter, Monk, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Wizard—gets a brand-new subclass thanks to this update.
And Larian hasn’t cut corners: these subclasses come with new abilities and summons, plus additional dialogue and visual effects.

But that’s just the beginning. With this new content,Baldur’s Gate 3is finally introducingcross-playacross all platforms.
Split-Screen Finally Comes to Xbox Series S
This means multiplayer now supportscross-progressionbetween console and PC. After the update, players can simply create a group in the crossplay lobby and find a session through the Larian Network.
Split-screen, a feature that couldn’t be implemented onXbox Series Sat launch, is finally being added—bringing that version in line with the rest.

And last but not least,Patch 8addsPhoto Mode, letting you snap screenshots throughout the Forgotten Realms with all sorts of fun poses.
