It doesn’t happen every time when Apple gives a series order to a new show destined forApple TV+, but this time around we have quite a clear picture of what’s coming down the pipe. This time around, it’s a new show focused on a young woman’s journey to find her own voice.

Apple hasofficially announcedit has given a series order to a show based on the book “Amber Brown” from writer Paula Danziger. The series will share the same name, and it’s being led by Bonnie Hunt (The Bonnie HuntShow) who will also write, direct, and coproduce the series. According to the announcement,Amber Brownis “an unfiltered look at a girl finding her own voice through art and music in the wake of her parents’ divorce.”

The upcoming series will star Carsyn Rose (The Rookie) as the eponymous character, who is described as an “everykid who is going through what many children experience, and making sense of her new family dynamic through her sketches and video diary.” The show will also star Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy) as Amber’s mother, Sarah Brown.

Amber Brownco-stars Darin Brooks (Blue Mountain State) as Max, and Liliana Inouye (The Slows) as Brandi Colwin.

The “Amber Brown” book series is a middle-grade read, and has more than 10 million copies in print. So it’s a bit of a hit. From today’s announcement:

No word on whenAmber Brownwill premiere on Apple TV+ quite yet, but with so much already set in stone for production, hopefully it will be soon.
