Clerks III Takes Dante and Randal Back to Quick Stop
After Brian O’Halloran and Jeff Anderson starred as Dante and Randal in the originalClerksin 1994, they returned for the 2006 sequelClerks II. This time, the two had to find a new job at a local fast food joint after Quick Stop Groceries had been burned down. That film ended with Jay and Silent Bob helping with getting Quick Stop and RST Video rebuilt so the two lifelong clerks can return to what has basically become their shared second home.
Putting the story back at Quick Stop will have the newClerkssequel feeling more reminiscent of the original. There are clearly going to be many homages and Easter eggs as can already be seen from the posters alone. Characters from the original, like Marilyn Ghigliotti’s Veronica and Scott Schiaffo’s Chewlie’s gum representative, will also be back to be involved with the story. ButClerks IIstars will also be featured, such as Rosario Dawson’s Becky and Trevor Fehrman’s Elias.
In the film, Randal suffers a near-fatal heart attack and it changes his outlook on life. The incident inspires him to make a movie at Quick Stop along with Dante about their lives as clerks at the convenience store. Through Randal’s movie, many moments from the originalClerkswill be recreatedas a fun way to finish the trilogy.
Clerks IIIwill have its first trailer released on Wednesday, July 6, with release information also forthcoming.
