Ryan Reynolds teased fans by releasing the deleted footage onX/Twitter, with the 20-second clip showing Gambit wandering aroundCassandra Nova’s base following their battle.As the camera pans up from the bodies towards Gambit’s face, the character smiles into the sky, teasing that we haven’t seen the last of the character in the MCU.

A follow-up to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 films starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

Alongside the post, Reynolds revealed that Gambit is indeed still alive, and the clip he revealed is a better look at the footage that fans examined from the post-credits scene. Reynolds said:

Channing Tatum Is Worryingly Desperate to Play Gambit Again in the Future

Channing Tatum’s love for Gambit runs deep. The actor has previously discussed how he loved the iconicX-Mencharacter as a kid, as the actor grew up around the Cajun community in Mississippi — which was the inspiration for his…interesting accent in the movie. Tatum was attached to star in a standalone Gambit movie for some time but, after years of development hell, the movie was scrapped when Disney bought the rights to the characters from Fox in 2019.

One of Deadpool & Wolverine’s cut cameos hurt Ryan Reynolds more than most, and it seems it wasn’t by choice.

With the character’s fate inDeadpool & Wolverineleft open, Channing Tatum isdesperate to play Gambit againin the MCU. Channeling the character’s chaotic nature, Tatum described the terrible things he is willing to do to play the character again in the future. The actor said:

“I would kill kittens to make [a Gambit movie]. I would do lots of terrible things to make that happen.”

Gambit’s reappearance in the MCU has yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios, but there is stillplenty more multiversal madnessto come. While Kevin Feige hasn’t greenlit theGambitmovie yet, Channing Tatum has revealed that the Marvel president is interested in bringing the character into the main MCU in the future. Tatum revealed:
