In an interview onLive! with Kelly and Michael, Hutcherson recalled his experience of kissing Lawrence inThe Hunger Games: Catching Fire.While they didn’t have any difficulty filming the sequence, theDetentionproducer mentioned that it was“very slobbery”due to theMother!actress.He recalled,
“It was very slobbery…It was right after Peeta had been knocked down, and it wasn’t looking too good for him.”
As the scene demanded a strong connection Lawrence had to get into an emotional mode which messed up their kissing experience a bit.
“So, she was upset, she was crying, and when she was crying, there was fluid here [points to an area on his face]…and then when we kissed, it was just fluid.”
However, he further added that it was all good since they were good friends. Their friendship was what contributed to making their on-screen chemistry much better.
