How to Get the Pinnacle of its Kind Quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

You get the Pinnacle of its Kind quest after interacting with a door at the end of the hallway near the hub area of Necropolis. This side quest unlocks after you have recruited Emmrich as a companion and then complete the Restless Spirits mission, which basically opens the door to the Chamber of the Unforged. Inside, you will find a hallway and a giant door at the opposite end.

Interacting with the giant door will start a conversation between The Formless One Demon and Rook. After this, you need to go back to the center of the hallway and search the bodies of the dead Venatori.

The Dock Town demon is in the eastern section of Minrathous. There’s a handy fast travel point just outside the Spillway so verify you use it and save yourself some time.

As you reach the demon’s location, you will find another brazier with a green flame. Interact with the brazier and this will spawn a fire demon in the area. This demon will not be spawning minions during the boss fight but will light up the ground with fire in a straight line.

Using a fire-based main weapon or magic spells will deal additional damage to the demon. However, if you have Lucanis or Emmrich in the party, both can apply Necrosis damage and can deplete the boss’s health faster.

Finding and Defeating the Hossberg Wetlands Demon

For the final demon, head to the northern section of Hossberg Wetlands. There’s a fast travel point quite close to where you can find this demon so save yourself the trouble of reaching the demon on foot.

The boss is a melee unit and has a few ranged attacks as well. The real danger during this boss fight is the sniper enemies posted far away at a bit of a height. You can make the boss fight a lot easier if you can eliminate the snipers first and then turn your attention to the boss.

Eliminate the final demon and then go back to the giant door where the Formless One spoke with you first in the Necropolis.

How to Beat Formless One In Dragon Age: The Veilguard

As you open the giant door and continue going further, you will find that the demon has possessed an undead dragon. The Formless One is a level 40 dragon boss, which should only be fought if you are level 35 or above.

At lower levels your health will deplete a lot when struck by the dragon and Rook or companions attacks will not deal decent damage. As a result, the overall boss fight can last for a long time and your chances of dying and failing the encounter will be high.

The Formless One dragon deals electric elemental damage, which means it will take little damage if you use electric spells or weapons on it. You’ll need to focus on dealing necrosis and fire damage since the dragon is weak to these elements.

Learning the attack patterns, as mentioned above, and how to avoid them is half the battle won. The other half involves bringing the right companions and dealing with the damage caused by high staggers.

You will need at least one healer who can always keep your health topped up. It won’t hurt to bring two healers if you struggle to defeat the Formless One. If this is the case then we recommend you bring Bellara and Davrin. Bellara will throw a health potion at you on your command and Davrin’s taunt ability restores your health; both are useful abilities during the Formless One boss fight.
