After pushing back its releaseto later this year,D3Publisher Inc. has finally revealed when Earth Defense Force 6, its sci-fi action-shooter series, will be coming to western platforms. Japanese fans have been enjoying defending Earth from giant ants and other invaders since 2022, but until now, there’s only been a vague assurance that the game would be getting a worldwide launch at some point. That’s finally changed, though, as the publisher has announced that Earth Defense Force 6 will launch on PC and PlayStation on July 25.
There are, of course, pre-order bonuses being offered for the worldwide release of Earth Defense Force 6, all of which are in-game extras. These include an exclusive set of auxiliary equipment for Wing Divers called “Reverse Core Type-N” and a set of three Hololive-themed decoys. These decoys will be modeled after the Vtubers: Takanashi Kiara, Gawr Gura and IRyS. PlayStation players will also get a metal-coated version of the “Nix” combat frame via the standard edition and a specially-painted vehicle in the deluxe edition.
For those unfamiliar, the Earth Defense Force series follows the EDF’s valiant efforts to defend Earth from all manner of alien invaders. These range from the standard grey-skinned and big-eyed aliens to killer robots and even giant ants. It’s a hostile galaxy after all, so a planet has to be prepared for just about anything if it’s going to survive.

In Earth Defense Force 6, the Earth and humanityhasmanaged to survive and make it to the year 2027, but they’re just barely hanging on. With ninety percent of its population destroyed, human civilization is all but ready to collapse, and there are still plenty of invaders attempting to colonize the planet.
