FIFA 23’s next patch, titled Update 4, will finally nerf the powerful Trivela shot.EAhas recently released thepatch notesfor the next update, detailing a staggering reduction of 30% in accuracy for the outside of the foot shot.

FIFAplayers who love their Trivela specialists won’t have to worry as much, as the patch outlines that the outside of the foot shot trait will only see a 10% reduction in accuracy.

FIFA 23: Jack Grealish shooting the ball

The shot has been dominating online play for quite some time, as Redditoru/Contempttposted avideoshowing his experience against the shot on Reddit in October. In the video, we see his opponent’s Frenkie de Jong (not a player known for his shooting abilities) score not one, not two, butfourTrivela goals from the exact same spot, all in the first half.

If that wasn’t enough to make a player rage-quit, u/Contemptt’s opponent then scores a fifth Trivela from the exact same spot, this time with center-back Gerard Piqué. 35-year-old defender Gerard Piqué is good at many things, shooting outrageous goals from well outside the box is not one of them.

The nerf to the Trivela shot isn’t the only change in the patch notes. During gameplay, EA also tweaked the input sensitivity needed to initiate a knock-on and increased the consistency of the ball roll skill move in first-time situations.

Some of the biggest changes are coming to the popular FUT Champions game mode, where EA will be adding a win-loss counter to the hub to track progress for play-offs and finals. The update will also be adding some new UI features in the FIFA Ultimate Team shop, highlighting the most popular pack offers.

Ultimate team players will be happy to see these new updates hit the game mode, as they are probably disappointed by the news that theWorld Cup game mode won’t be comingto their side of FIFA. The Qatar World Cup game mode is completely separate from Ultimate Team. That doesn’t mean that FUT fans will be completely left out, as there are new World Cup Path to Glory cards that will be upgraded throughout the tournament.

The update will also include some fixes to jostling animations as well as unintended movement through skill moves.
