Begginer or not, Final Fantasy XIV’s new Starter Guide Series is definitely one to watch. Launched on June 11, 2025, the animated guide series showcases how to get started in FFXIV. For a game over a decade old, with its oldest available content around nine years old, it’s useful to have a guide for beginners.
The series, which follows a narrative structure, introduces Mayra, a Viera Scholar and representation of a veteran player, along with Kaz, a newbie to the game. During the series, which currently has twoepisodes, Kaz will start his journey in FFXIV as Mayra guides him.
Overall, this is just a cute and fun new way to introduce friends and new players to game of Final Fantasy XIV. One of the biggest hurdles to starting MMO is both fear of missing out (FOMO) and the daunting task of starting, the latter of which Square Enix attempts to mitigate with this effort.

There’s also content for existing players as well with this new release, including a sweepstakes that Final Fantasy XIV is running to celebrate the release. In this sweepstakes, players can win a brand-new Endwalker Collector’s Box, plus FFXIV Complete Edition.
