THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactivehave just announced that theGothic 1 Remakenow has a completely free demo available for PC, which you can download from Steam as part of the new edition ofSteam Next Fest.This gives us the opportunity to try out this long-awaited remake for the first time.
Gothic 1 Remake: An Independent Adventure to Dive into the Saga
The demo is titled"Nyras Prologue"and serves as a unique introduction to the world ofGothic.It includes a special achievement required to unlock all the achievements in the final PC version of Gothic Remake.
To be more specific, in this demo, we will play as Nyras, a prisoner who must fight to survive the dangers lurking around every corner. This allows us to get a feel for some of the main mechanics and experience the atmosphere of the remake firsthand.
It’s worth noting that this is an independent adventure set in a small section of the game world, so many mechanics are limited. Additionally, we won’t enjoy as much freedom as in the final version, since the goal here is to help us familiarize ourselves with the combat system and the new audiovisual elements of the remake, which has been developed using Unreal Engine 5. In total, the demo offers about an hour of gameplay.
Gothic 1 Remakeis, as its name suggests, a remake of this classic action RPG that is being developed for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam and GOG. At this time, a release date has not yet been confirmed.
