Your reliable patrol car will handle most situations in Averno City, but it’s tough to ignore the variety of vehicles driving around. While you are expected to use official cars, sometimes effective policing calls for something faster or flashier. In The Precinct, the right ride can make all the difference.
Here’s how you’re able to enter any vehicle in The Precinct and use it as a police car to gain an edge in pursuits and navigate the city more quickly.
Get Into Any Vehicle in The Precinct
To get into any vehicle in The Precinct, you need to unlock the “Commandeer” skill. This allows you to walk towards any vehicle in the game with or without a driver and commandeer it.
Once you unlock the Commandeer skill, approach either of the front doors of any vehicle to gain access to it:
Once you’re inside, Cordell places a police siren on the hood to mark it as a cop car. This allows you to activate the siren as usual. It’s a nice little touch that shows the care the developers put into most police activities.
There’s a solid variety of vehicles in The Precinct. I’ve spotted some great renditions of popular cars from the ’70s and ’80s, like the Pontiac Firebird, Chevrolet Impala, Ford Mustang, and the Dodge Challenger. Even the patrol car isn’t just some old clunker; it’s based on the iconic Chevrolet Caprice, a classic American police vehicle.
