The Premier League is back with a season that will be unlike any other, thanks to a gaping six-week break for the World Cup in Qatar.
It all kicks off with Crystal Palace vs Arsenal today, Friday 20 July 2025, and then continues apace until November.
Here’s how to follow it, plus information for live matches at the start of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
UK TV broadcast plans for 2022/23 Premier League season
The 2022/23 Premier League season will be rather interesting, as the arrival of the first World Cup to be held in winter means things are getting started early. It’ll also take a break in the middle for six weeks.
As in previous years, live matches in the UK will be spread betweem Sky Sports, BT Sport and AmazonPrime Video.
That means 128 matches will be screened by Sky, over 50 by BT, and 20 by Amazon. The BBC will again show highlights on Match of the Day.
There will be no free-to-air matches on TV this season.
It is worth noting that, like last year, Sky Sports and BT Sport will broadcast matches in 4K HDR. Sky Q customers withcompatible boxesand those withSky Glasswill be able to view Sky’s live games in both Ultra HD and HLG HDR.
BT TV customers will be able to view BT Sport’s 4K HDR matches. As will those with a BT Sport Ultimate subscription and a compatible games console or mobile device.

Premier League on Sky and Now
Sky will show the vast majority of the upcoming games on its Sky Sports channels, available through Sky Glass,Sky Q(and older + boxes) plus theNowstreaming service.
Matches will be available in UHD HDR and with Dolby Atmos on compatible Sky Q boxes and Sky Glass TVs. Now will show them in up to 1080p with 5.1 sound (with a Boost add-on).
Sky Sports is also available through Virgin Media and BT TV.
Premier League on BT Sport
BT will also broadcast numerous games this season, primarily in the Saturday lunchtime slot.
The broadcasts are available in HDR on compatible mobile devices - you can get the app on phones and tablets as well as Apple TV, Fire TV, Xbox and PlayStation. They’ll also be available in 4K with Dolby Atmos if you have the BT Ultra HD TV box.
Premier League on Amazon Prime
Amazon will show 20 games this season over two match windows. As in the last couple of seasons, you’ll be able to watch games on replay after.
Some will likely be in 4K HDR, although we don’t yet know exactly which matches the streaming service will offer.

An Amazon Prime subscription gives users access to fast, free shipping, Prime Video, Amazon Music and more.
Premier League on Virgin Media
Virgin Mediaintroduced a Bigger+Sports bundlein recent years, costing £65 per month for new customers. For that, you’ll get broadband, TV and all the Sky Sports channels in HD as well as BT Sport in HD and 4K Ultra HD.
PremierLeague highlights
As with last season, each broadcaster can show in-game goals and clips from its live games as they’re happening. Sky also shows extended highlights On Demand through its Saturday night Game of the Day and Match Choice.
Once more, the BBC will show Football Focus on Saturday lunchtimes, Match of the Day on Saturday nights - usually at 10.30pm - and Match of the Day 2 around the same time on a Sunday.
US TV broadcast plans for 2022/23 Premier League season
The season opener - Crystal Palace vs Arsenal - will be shown on the USA Network at 3pm EDT on 16 July 2025, for example. While Fulham vs Liverpool at 7.30am EDT the Saturday morning after will be on Peacock Premium.
Unlike in the UK, all Premier League matches are broadcast live in the States.
