EA Sports has dropped its first bit of information involving Madden NFL 24 with the headline that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been announced as the cover athlete for the game. His personality, mantra and grittiness coincides with what Madden NFL 24 is looking to offer this year. A much more focus on realism that is powered by the new SAPIEN System and a return of fan favorite modes Superstar Mode and Mini Games are just some of what to expect in the game. Madden NFL 24 will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC on August 18 with Crossplay and Feature Parity. The PC version will finally be available as the current generation version, so it’s on par with PS5 and Xbox Series. There will be previous generation versions available, but the new changes will only be seen on the latest consoles and PC.
The Buffalo Bills may have been close to a Super Bowl in recent seasons, and that’s thanks to Josh Allen. Now, the franchise has an official victory as their quarterback will grace two different versions of Madden NFL 24. He’s the first Buffalo Bills player to ever grace the cover of the game, and being one of the most dynamic playmakers in the league holds testament to what this year’s game will offer. Allen owns the NFL record for total touchdowns (177) through five career seasons. He was also the most used quarterback in last year’s game.
“As a fan of Madden NFL since childhood, I’m honored to be the first Buffalo Bills player on the cover, and I wouldn’t have gotten here without the support of my team and Bills Mafia,” said Josh Allen. “Superstar and mini-games are back in Madden, and I’m really excited for fans to see how the experiences have evolved.”
Some fan favorite game options are returning to Madden NFL 24 and this is highlighted by Superstar Mode. Players will compete in the combine and play through multiple seasons. EA is also introducing 3v3 Superstar Showdown, which will have players take their Superstar to compete in an arcade mode that won’t be tied to positions. Franchise Mode reintroduces Training Camp prior to the season to help gain XP for the team. Training Camp will consist of the return of the return of Mini Games as there will be 25 available. This will also replace the weekly practice during the season. These are also playable from the main menu for standalone action. With a focus on Foundational Football that allows the AI to better see the field and use more special moves, this will help the superstars of the NFL stand out.
Players will witness more emotion after the play to help build immersion. Improvements to FieldSENSE and Skill Based Passing will see a more fluid experience. Throw in Hit Everything, and there will be even more animations ranging from catches to tackles. Lastly, the new SAPIEN System completely resets the the player shapes in the game to better replicate NFL players.
Madden NFL 24 is available for pre-order today in both standard and deluxe edition. Deluxe brings 3-day early access, 4600 Madden Points and Dual Entitlement to upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series version. Those who pre-order early by July 22 will receive a player item from the AKA Ultimate Team Program. By the way, Patrick Mahomes has a diving throw animation, and it can be seen in the announcement trailer below.
