Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is agreat gamewith a memorable story and solid gameplay. Like other popular comic book titles, the game offers a treasure trove of unlockables to find throughout its lengthy playtime. These unlocks include a wide array of costumes pulled from classic comics and films.
In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, all five characters have 7 costumes to unlock by exploring the levels. In addition, there are several additional outfits available for Star-Lord upon completing the game. All costumes are found in purple boxes. Some you’ll be able to see from a distance, others will require more exploration. If you’re told to go down a certain path, be sure to look around for a divergent path. Also be on the lookout for scratches on surfaces, movable blocks, wooden pallets or small holes. Some chests you’ll need help from your fellow Guardians to reach.
There are no costume unlocks in Chapters 9, 11 and 15, so feel free to play through without fear of missing any costumes. Additionally, Chapter 16’s unlocks happen after you beat the chapter.
Do note that some costumes can be acquired early via pre-ordering certain editions. We’ll highlight them in their respective chapter. Despite this, all costumes can be unlocked in-game. Beware of spoilers, especially in Chapters 12 – 16.

Character:Rocket Raccoon
Costume:Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Find this costume towards the very start of the game. At a fork in the road, Rocket will mention that the path to the right is a “dead end.” Ignore him and follow the blue flooring. Towards the end, on your left, is a hole you may jump down into. Do that and you’ll find the chest inside.
Character:Groot

After witnessing the unknown entity escape, you’ll find yourself in a new room. Look immediately to your right and observe a small hole you’re able to crouch through. Do it and the chest will be right there.
Character:Star-Lord
Costume:Nova-Lord

As you explore with Nikki, you’ll need to move a crate in front of a busted pipe to block fire. After that, you’ll hope over some debris. Do not follow her to the right. Instead keep going straight to find a small hole you can crouch under. Follow that path to the chest.
Character:Gamora

After fighting the blobs at the start of the mission, you’ll find yourself in a forest. To the very right you’ll find a small hole you can crouch through. Once inside, go to the very back to proceed and fight some additional blobs. Once those are defeated, you can follow a path at the back of that cave to do some platforming and climbing. Follow the path to get the chest.
Costume:Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse

Found after defeating the two Slakebeasts. After commanding Groot to build a bridge, go left instead of following the team to the right. This puts you in front of a waterfall you can freeze to complete a platform. Take it and follow the path straight to the chest.
Character:Drax

After surviving the drone, keep moving forward rather than going through the doorway on the left. Platform over to the last platform and you’ll find the chest on your right.
Find this one in the sewers. Keep going forward until you get to an intersection with pathways left and right. Take the left path and the chest will be sitting there waiting.
Costume:Nova Corps

Find this costume at the start of the chapter. In the lobby, push power to the bathroom door by Groot. Walk right on in and open the chest.

After defeating the violent Nova Crops soldiers, you’ll enter a room bathed in yellow light. Go all the way to the back and look behind the forklift for the chest.
