While it is no secret that Path of Exile 2 will receive a major content update in patch 0.2.0, players were speculating about how much content will be released and whether it will be worth playing.
Since people can opt to just play until a better major patch with an economy reset or even the 1.0 launch, it’ll take a lot to entice new players to come back and play. Grinding Gear Games has hinted at some new ascendancy classes coming apart from new unique items, endgame content updates, and more.

What Ascendancy Classes Are Getting Introduced in Path of Exile 2’s 0.2.0 Patch?
In Path of Exile 2’s teaser post, it looks like the teased ascendancy will come from the Mercenary class, which is much needed as it is one of the least-played classes. It is an officer holding a crossbow while directing another soldier in battle with a sword and shield. It also has the following teaser:
“Countless wars have left you with skills somewhat resembling a decent officer…“

It looks like it could be a support-based ascendancy from the Mercenary class, and it also might fit well with the new unique “Prism Guardian Sectarian Crest Shield,” which has decent stats with a unique “+1 to Maximum Spirit per 50 Maximum Life.”
A tanky aura-stacker might be in the books, but this is only speculation. Since Grinding Gear Games has said that content update 0.2.0 will have some new ascendancy classes, so we will have more than one.
We can only wait until they give more information, but most fans are expecting more crucial changes to the endgame loop, especially regarding the tower system and other map mechanics.
However, they could learn something fromPath of Exile 1’s Legacy of Phrecia event. We have seen them experiment with new ideas in Path of Exile 1 and implement them in Path of Exile 2, such as some of its map design layouts, currency exchange systems, and more.
There could be some clues fromPath of Exile 1’s most popular buildsthat could transfer to Path of Exile 2 since they introduced 19 new ascendancies exclusive to the event.
