Persona 4 voice actor confirms Persona 4 Remake is in development
A beloved voice actor just spilled the tofu, confirming what fans have long suspected: a Persona 4 Remake is real.
Rumors have been swirling like a Midnight Channel fog for good reason. In February 2025, iconic Persona singer Shihoko Hirata teased new music recorded at MIT Studio in Tokyo, the very studio behind Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload soundtracks.

Then, in March, fans spotted thedomain p4re.jp, a near twin to p3re.jp, which preceded Persona 3 Reload’s announcement. The clues stacked up fast. Yet Atlus stayed tight-lipped, offering no confirmation or release details about a Persona 4 Remake.
And now, Yuri Lowenthal, Yosuke’s original English voice, just casually blew the lid off.

Yuri Lowenthal confirmed Persona 4 Remake is real, but he won’t be part of it
In a Bluesky post, he said: “No, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake. I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back.”
Lowenthal’s been around Atlus titles longer than some players have been alive. He voiced both the Persona 3 protagonist and Yosuke in P4. He’s also Spider-Man, Sasuke, and the Prince of Persia. Basically, a one-man voice acting universe.

For the record, Yuri Lowenthal didn’t voicePersona 3’s protagonist in Persona 3 Reload; Aleks Le took over instead.
Atlus hasn’t confirmed that the Persona 4 Remake exists. But with that domain, updated music teased by Shihoko Hirata, and now Yuri’s revelation, it’s probably happening.

Then there’s the P3 Reload effect. Its slick visuals and revamped systems made fans hungry for more. Persona 4 shares a ton of structural DNA with P3. Reusing assets would save Atlus time and yen.
