Players are able to sell their weapons for Yen, but this system is never touched on during the introductory hours of the game and may go unnoticed by many players. Here’s how to sell old weapons to get more Yen.

How To Sell Gear
After a few hours of gameplay, theshop will get new weapons for allPhantom Thieves,and it’s always worth the investment to upgrade everyone’s guns. After a new gun is bought,old guns are useless and can be dismantled for Yen,but first, players will need to complete the first few main missions and unlock the Velvet Room.
Once theVelvet Room is open, click on the third option, “Disassemble Weapon.“This will open up a menu of all Phantom Thieves where all their old weapons can be seen and disassembled for Yen. Players can alsoequip guns in this menufor the selected Phantom Thief, letting playerschoose carefully which weapons are sold or not,as one gun will always need to be equipped on the character.

What To Spend Yen On
In this more streamlined game, there are only two ways to spend Yen. Yen isused at the store to purchase new gunsthat appear periodically for all Phantom Thieves, along withbeing used to summon old Personas from the Compendium in the Velvet Room.With the addition of theSub Persona system,summoning and fusing powerful Personas is even more important, as players willneed multiple high-level Personas for all members of the party.Disassembling weapons is important as they do nothing just sitting in the inventory, andeither a new weapon or Persona is much more valuable.
