EA will be giving players more ways to participate and grow in Road to Glory as it returns for its second updated year inCollege Football 26. Aspects that were missing from a very solid experience last year are being filled with. More potential expansion is expected within the mode including the introduction of Wear and Tear across the entire career of the player. NIL deals will be a part of the recruiting process along with the ability to play through high school. This was probably the biggest request across the board for Road to Glory and it is officially back in the game.

Players have Starting Options in RTG

The initial experience is much likeRoad to Glorywas last year. Players will choose their starting point in terms of rating, then position and archetype. The archetype system has been overhauled to better mirror the real traits that make each player distinct. The positions also remain with quarterback, running back, wide receiver, MIKE linebacker and cornerback. The combination that is chosen directly affects the offers that come in. If you’re a Pocket Passer, Army and Navy won’t coming looking.

Your hometown will directly affect the recruiting, as well.Local and in-state schools will show more interest due to the recruiting pipelines. From here, players will name their high school and mascot. You will be able to choose between six presets or you can pull a created team from Team Builder. Also, if you don’t want to do high school, you don’t have to. If you prefer the start in college like last year, then you can simply start there. The idea behind the high school experience is to keep it at a quick 75 minute run. The dev team wants you to create multiple players and have quicker experiences throughout their career.

College Football 26 Gameplay Deep Dive Hits with Power

The big aspect that many will notice about the gameplay for College Football 26 is the amount of customization and adjustable options.

One thing about choosing what rating your player is, they can lose it. Players can also get deeper with customizations including throw styles, running styles, and lining up pre-snap. Interviews and conversations will also be making a return as you will be prompted with one immediately in high school to get an idea of who you are and what your goals are. The goal is to Build Your Tape as a direct reflection of your abilities and proficiency. You chose the skills and now the schools need to see how good you are with them. During high school, you can manage your top schools after gaining your Assessed Tape Score. Scholarships from schools are determined by these multiple factors:

Ten schools are allowed on this list under the My Recruitment section on the High School Hub. Players will select moments for the week and prior to the start of play, an overlay showcasing the selected moments plus the School Tape Score Boost will be provided.Playbooks are catered to the archetype as full access is available.Moments can be restarted on any difficulty but Heisman. High School Scenarios will be encountered that feature dynamic interactions with college coaches, classmates and off-field challenges. Some schools may ask for a specific skill to be put on tape with Highlight Moments. These are high risk, high reward and provide a chance to make a major leap with a specific school.

Higher-tier offers have perks that come with moving to college ball.Players can expect stronger starting values in academics, brand, leadership and training meters.Additional XP, Extra Skill Point and a Higher starting Coach Trust will also come with a better scholarship. The devs are also introducing Verbal Committing. This will lock in an offer as it stands, but this also means it the bonuses can’t improve either. Decommitting will mean the Tape Score threshold required to earn a new offer from that school will increase. Offers aren’t safe, either, as standing can fall if that school signs someone else before you commit.

Senior Night provides one last chance to showcase everything. You will receive a special runout with flowers in hand as this is the last opportunity to manage your top schools. Once the game is finished, you will need to name your Top 3 that will be taken into Signing Day that is held in the high school gym. Three hats are laid out and the crowd can be faked out. This includes throwing a hat across the gym.

Players will select moments for the week and prior to the start of play, an overlay showcasing the selected moments plus the School Tape Score Boost will be provided.

Moving on to College Ball

New challenges and more decisions will shape the future to the NFL. Bonuses take effect and time management is once again key. Practice is used to earn Coach Trust and the Weekly Agenda is off the field activities. Meters will rise and fall more dynamically than last year based on the weekly decisions and energy used. New off-field scenarios and dilemmas will appear during the week as long-term wear and tear comes into play. Decisions will stack up across the current season and overall career.

Players will need to manage their bodies much like a boxer. Not all hits are created equal, and steps taken to recover from injuries will pull from an overall pool of points. Once the season health is depleted, you won’t be able to recover any health until the offseason. That pool will replenish at that point, but not always at the same level. It depends on where the season was finished as to what amount gets allocated in the following year.
