Housemarqueteases on social media that we’ll get an extended look atSaros, their new game followingReturnal, later in 2025.

Saros Confirms Extended Gameplay Reveal

It’s no secret thatSarosstrongly echoesReturnal. It’s not a direct sequel, but Housemarque has clearly carried over many of the core concepts from their previous title into this upcoming PS5 exclusive, which is set to launch in 2026.

The game was officially announced in February this year, as the closing surprise of a jam-packed State of Play. The reveal introduced us to Rahul Kohli’s character and gave us a glimpse of what he’ll face in Carcosa.

Saros Gets a Date for Its First Gameplay Reveal

Not much is known yet aboutSaros, though Housemarque has confirmed that its budget is on par with Alan Wake 2—around $70 million—and that the project wouldn’t be possible without Sony PlayStation’s backing.

The game will center around a similar concept of time loops, but with one key twist: every death will completely alter the planet, making no two playthroughs alike.

PlayStation

Housemarque has confirmedSaroswill launch exclusively for PS5 (though, like Returnal, a future PC release might be on the table). And while new details are coming soon, we won’t have to wait long.

But don’t expect anything this summer despite rumors of a potentialPlayStation Showcase. The new info is expected to drop in the final stretch of 2025, starting in September.

News Coming Late 2025

On their official Twitter/X account, Housemarque teased that they’ll reveal more about their next game toward the end of 2025. Most likely, we’ll have to wait until fall—possibly at The Game Awards—for the next big update.

And this won’t be just a teaser—Housemarque has confirmed they’ll show offextensive gameplay footageof Saros. That strongly suggests we’ll see the game in action (and eventually get hands-on) in 2026.

Let’s not forget: Housemarque is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025, so it’s possible they’ll have their own dedicated State of Play before December to showcase more of this sci-fi adventure.

From the creators ofResogun and Nex Machina, SarosstarsArjun Devraj, an enforcer thrown into a mysterious journey in the colony of Carcosa following a strange eclipse.

Saros, Housemarque’s ambitious sci-fi project afterReturnal, is currently in development for PlayStation 5. It’s confirmed to launch sometime in 2026, though whether it’ll arrive early in the year remains unknown. The good news? It could take advantage of AMD FSR 4-based PSSR enhancements.
