Sonyhas reaffirmed its commitment to major single-player games, as expressed by Sadahiko Hayakawa of Sony in a meeting with the company’s investors.

Sony’s Commitment to Single-Player Games

According to Hayakawa, while they won’t release any high-budget single-player games from their internal studios before the current fiscal year ends in March 2025, the company plans to “continue releasing major single-player games annually starting from the next fiscal year.”

Hayakawa mentionedGhost of Yōtei, the highly anticipated sequel toGhost of Tsushima, slated for release sometime in 2025. Additionally, Sony is set to publishDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach, the next major title from Kojima Productions, exclusively for PS5, also expected to launch in 2025.

While it doesn’t yet have a release date, Insomniac Games is currently working on Marvel’s Wolverine (and quite possibly on a third Marvel’s Spider-Man installment, though unannounced).

Furthermore, it remains to be seen what studios like Sony Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, Bluepoint Games, Housemarque, Guerrilla Games, and Media Molecule are working on, suggesting that PlayStation studios will continue to deliver major single-player games for years to come.
