In just nine short days,Star Wars: The Force Awakenswill finally hit theaters, and all of thesecretsfans have been dying to know for three years will finally come to light. Over the past few years, a number of characters have been revealed, but there are still many more who have yet to be either seen or identified. Today, the veil of secrecy is lifted a bit more, withPeoplerevealing the first photos ofCarrie Fisher’s daughter,Billie Lourdfrom this highly-anticipatedStar Warsadventure.
Unfortunately, her character’s identity has not been revealed yet, but as you’re able to see in the photos below, she has taken on her mother’s familiarStar Warshairstyle that fans will recognize. While Billie Lourd’s “cinnamon bun” hairstyle isn’t quite as exaggerated as her mother’s inStar Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, it seems to be one of many nods to the beloved trilogy inStar Wars: The Force Awakens. Like many of us,Billie Lourdrevealed that she was obsessed with the trilogy while she was growing up.

“I made [my mom] watch it at least once a week - and on special occasions I would make her get in a lightsaber fight with me. Let’s just say the more trained Jedi usually won.”
There have been rumors that Lourd is actually playingLeia’s daughter inStar Wars: The Force Awakens, but that has not been confirmed. While we don’t know her character’s identity yet, the photos below certainly hint that she works for the Resistance in some capacity, as she’s seen with the blue droid PZ-4CO, who was briefly seen in the third trailer. While we’ll have to wait and see what role she’ll play, the actress almost didn’t follow in her mother’s footsteps.

When she was 19, the same ageCarrie Fisherwas when she started filmingStar Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope,Billie Lourdwas studying religion and psychology at New York University. After graduating last year, she caught the acting bug, and can currently be seen in the hit Fox seriesScream Queens. Here’s what the actress had to say about how her mother’s performance in A New Hope was inspiring to her.
“When I saw the [original] movie for the first time, I noticed my mom was not only equally as confident and strong as the men, she was one of the most confident characters in the entire film. It made me realize women are just as powerful as men and that we can truly do anything they can - if not more!”
