As part of its ongoing25th anniversary celebration, CNBC put together a list of what it believes were the top 25 most influential people in the last 25 years. Dubbed ‘First 25: Rebels, Icons & Leaders, the list includes the likes of Jeff Bezos and Oprah Winfrey.
For many, it’ll come as no surprise that CNBC rankedSteve Jobs#1 in the list. The outlet said that the co-founder of Apple deserved the top spot because “his vision spurred changes far beyond his industry and put an indelible stamp on the wider culture.”

CNBC says that the final list of 25 was compiled using poll data from a combination of editorial leaders, experts and TV viewers. Bill Gates came in 2nd, Google’s Sergey Brin, Larry Page & Eric Schmidt 4th, and Jeff Bezos 5th. you may see the full listhere.
Jobs, who passed away in 2011 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, has been posthumously honored on several occasions for his achievements including aGrammy Award,aDisney Legends Award, and an inductioninto theBay Area Business Hall of Fame.
