Kingdom Hearts 4 has been in development atSquare Enixfor years now, and we’ve only received a few world confirmations so far from official media. From what Yen Sid has told Mickey, we know the King is heading to Scala ad Caelum to discover information about the Foreseekers.
Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy are exploring the Underworld for Hades. There is some room for exploration into other previous worlds as well. Here are some prior worlds that should come back in Kingdom Hearts 4.

7Destiny Islands
A World Unexplored Since KH1
Ever since Kingdom Hearts 2, fans have been teased about the main town in Destiny Islands but have never explored it. Kairi seems to be walking home from school when she remembers Sora. It would be great to get more information about Sora, Kairi, and Riku’s home as much as we know about Traverse Town or Twilight Town.
We could be defending the world from the darkness by playing as Kairi or Lea as the Foretellers grow in strength, while Sora and Riku are away in the realm of reality. It would be great to see Tidus, Selphie, and Wakka with their signature weapons from the Final Fantasy series as well, slightly grown up. Hopefully we get to see more of this memorable island in the next game.

Sora is trapped in the realm of Unreality after using his Power of Waking too many times to save Kairi after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3 and its DLC ReMind.
Mickey Should Learn More About the Foretellers in This World
Scala ad Caelum is a mysterious setting in the Kingdom Hearts series built from the ruins of Daybreak Town, the main area of Kingdom Hearts Unchained X and Union X. We see this world in Kingdom Hearts 3, where Sora and Xehanort fight against each other.
Afterwards, he returns to Scala ad Caelum to retrieve fragments of Kairi’s heart. Sora then disappears after recovering Kairi and enters Quadratum, where we see him in Kingdom Hearts 4. This city is absolutely stunning, and the lore kept within this world may help players who haven’t played the mobile games (like myself) clue in to the events of the titles they’ve missed. Hopefully, Mickey is indeed exploring the library of Scala ad Caelum in theKingdom Hearts 4 screenshots we saw in May 2025.

10 Most Iconic Kingdom Hearts Original Characters
Kingdom Hearts has one of the most memorable casts in gaming, but which character is the most iconic?
5Atlantica
A Third Chance at Redemption with Fans
With the superb underwater controls of Kingdom Hearts 3 and its interpretation of the Pirates of the Caribbean, Atlantica could be a good choice for the fourth title. This may seem like a random choice, but there are some ways this could work. In the first game, King Triton is revealed to have knowledge about the keyblade wielders, wreaking destruction on the worlds.
Perhaps, he could be a source of knowledge for Donald, Goofy, and whoever is accompanying them to get to Quadratum in some way. Additionally, the “reality” realm that Sora is in may have the recent live-action version of Atlantica as a world, perhaps.

The world of Atlantica could be stunning in KH4 with the detailed shimmering of light hitting the water from above, realistic waves, and the colorful variety of fish that could be shown. In some cultures, seashells have also been known to speak with the spiritual realm (according toMindful Spiritual Life), so perhaps there would be a way to connect with Sora in this way. Nevertheless, there are many ways that KH4 could take Atlantica.
4Game Central Station
Wreck-It Ralph Should Not Be Restricted to an Extinct Mobile Game
Console Kingdom Hearts players may not know this, but the Game Central Station from Wreck-It Ralph was a playable world in Kingdom Hearts Union X. You meet the titular character and Fix-It-Felix Jr during these events as the heartless swarm the world. As Ralph was a summon in KH4, it would be fun to see Sora interacting with the video game villain turned hero. The world could be set up with pixel-like objects breaking up in spectacular fashion. Additionally, if our keyblade-wielding hero heads to Candy Land, we could possibly drive in a karting mini-game, which would be fun.
You could also get some cameos from other franchises like Street Fighter and Sonic the Hedgehog, like the film, if Square Enix and Disney wanted. Perhaps Sora’s connections in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate could be referenced canonically in some way as he’s faced Sonic, Ryu, and Ken in the past; that would be wild. This would likely have to follow an original story like Monsters Inc. and Toy Story as the events of the first movie play out in Union X, annoyingly.

3Wonderland
An Alternate Reality Take on Wonderland?
If we were to get alternate universe versions of prior Kingdom Hearts worlds, Wonderland would be a great revisit. We can explore the live-action depiction of the classic Disney film. We could slay the Jabberwocky as the final boss of the world and explore a darker interpretation of what Sora once explored.
We could get a new party member in the form of The Mad Hatter, who could throw his hat at foes and swing his sword from the final act of the movie. Also, the Red Queen, alongside her minions, could be a decent antagonist for Sora to face against. Square Enix could utilize the Tim Burton-esque visuals in the world and make them look fantastic in theUnreal Engine 5-powered engineKingdom Hearts 4 uses.
2Halloween Town
A Stop-Motion Animated Sora?
While Sora’s had many adventures with Jack Skellington, Sally, and the gang in the past, we haven’t yet seen what Halloween Town could look like in a HD title. With the power of Unreal Engine 5, we could see some cool graphics inspired by the stop-mation animation that director Henry Sellick and his team helped orchestrate. Other games likeHarold Halibuthave been able to pull off the style in the past, but perhaps the game could simulate the style rather than hand-animate it.
The first Kingdom Hearts had an original story for Sora and his friends in Halloween Town, so we could get a similar situation in the fourth game. How it connects to Quadratum and the other reality, I have no idea, but it would be fantastic to see Halloween Town return in some shape or form. It’s a fan-favorite.
1Radiant Garden
Radiant Garden Looking More…radiant?
Kingdom Hearts 3 teased us with a new glorious HD version of Radiant Garden during cutscenes, but never let us explore the world. Kairi is currently in Radiant Garden as she helped search through her memories to find a way to get to Sora. She was successful in Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory.
However, there are still many mysteries in Radiant Garden about the origin of the heartless and the mysterious girl that was taken there, whom Axel and Saix discovered (as revealed in the Secret Reports of Kingdom Hearts 3). Perhaps Ansem the Wise has some research about the Foretellers that Mickey can’t find in Scala ad Caelum. Fans have wanted a playable Kairi section for a long time. It would be nice if she weren’t the damsel in distress for once. Perhaps we could see moreFinal Fantasy charactersshow up, like Hope Estheim and Clive Rosfield?
