If you take advantage of Apple’s nativeMusicapp to enjoy songs from your favorite artists, then you probably already know just how easy it is to add the same song to a playlist more than once.

Although Apple hasn’t integrated any safeguards against duplicate songs in your playlists, iOS developerFrozen Penguinis here with a solution in the form of a new and freejailbreak tweakcalledDejavu2.

As shown in the screenshot example above, Dejavu2 displays a simple alert front and center on your display when you attempt to add a song to a playlist that’s already there. Consequently, you won’t ever have any duplicate songs in any of your playlists.

The tweak automatically grays out songs that have already been added to your playlists, and so it reduces redundancy and helps you keep your content both captivating and concise for the listener.

If the concept sounds familiar, then that’s because this is actually the second iterationof a similar tweak released back in 2016. The newest release is compatible with the latest version of iOS, as well as the latest version of Apple’s Music app; moreover, it even works on A12(X) devices.

Once installed, Dejavu2 puts a preference pane in the Settings app where you may configure the tweak to your liking:
