What are Toadstool Mushrooms?
The Toadstool is an important but fairly rare mushroom found in the world of Monster Hunter Wilds that’s used in various crafting recipes.
Given their purple aesthetic, you may probably figure out what kind of crafting items they produce. With the mixture of aSmokenut, you’ll be able to produce aPoison Smoke Bomb. These are very useful for chipping away at a monster’s HP.

The other function is strictly for Bowgun users. Combining with Normal Ammo, the Toadstool can turn into at least two instances ofPoison Ammo. Similar to the poison Smoke Bomb, these will help inflict poison on monsters and chip away at their HP over time. This can be incredibly effective in longer fights.
Finally, by combining the Toadstool withRaw Meat, it produces Poisoned Meat, which can be fed to monsters to inflict, you might have guessed it, the poison ailment.

This is found in the cave system on thesecond leveland is surrounded by mining opportunities and bugs. It can be tricky to find given the area’s complicated cave system.
Scarlet Forest
As you’re able to imagine, the Scarlet Forest is ripe for mushrooms as it’s filled to the brim with wildlife and nature. Unfortunately, the forest is far too clean for the Toadstool mushroom as there are only two instances of it. As you can imagine, one is found rightin-between zones 7 and 8. This location has basically every form of mushroom, and there’s one right up against the back of a tree. The other location is on the eastern side ofzone 10.
Oilwell Basin
The Oilwell Basin actually has more than the Scarlet Forest, which is a surprise considering how desolate this area feels. The first one is located on the second level of the Basin, located all the way south next to the furthest campsite. This is found directly south of zone 9. The other instance of the Toadstool is found on the bottom level and all the way west. This is found right in-betweenzones 16 and 12,fairly close to aChillshroomand aNitroshroom.
Iceshard Cliffs
Just like most of the other locations, there’s only one Toadstool to be found in the Cliffs. This is found inarea 6on the second level. It’s fairly close to aMandragora, but not really close to any camps. It can be a bit tricky to get to because of this.
Ruins of Wyveria
The final area of Monster Hunter Wilds, the Ruins of Wyveria, holds one Toadstool in its vast area of exploration. Found on the bottom level, you will need to go rightin-between zone 13 and zone 14to find this lone shroom.
