Thisfightrequires you toexhaust Viperandpunish the openingshislungesprovide for you.Avoid the Vortexanddodge out of rangeas you seeViperswinging hisweaponaround as theAOE will pull you in.Brink Guard Vipers' Spear Stabstoexhaust himand useBrutal Blowto bring him tohalf health.As a marker of whatPhaseyou’re in, usually, it will takefour full exhauststo take downViper,given that thefirst exhaustofPhase 1 and Phase 3will happen athalf healthand thefinal 2 exhaustsof therespective phaseswill be enough todeplete his healthby one or two hits afterward.
Once at half health,Phase 2begins withVipermoving faster and adding hislunges and unblockable spear stab attackinto hispattern moveset. While usingDual Bladesand theSpearwill give youbetter mobility,theGreatswordwill not be able to keep up withVipers’speed. As such, it is not recommended for this fight.Exhaust Viperonce more byexploiting his Downward LungeandUnblockable Stabattacks anddeplete the health bar.You’re not done yet, however, as after the cutscene,Phases 3 and 4will begin, in which you should have at least 2-3 main orbs for healingleft along with a few side items.

During this time,do not fight Viper, instead take advantage of yourBrink Dodge, Brink Guard, and Parry/Counterattackas needed. Once the screenlightens,you only have tochip awayat his remaininghealthto win the fight.
