With a name such asLike a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, one would assume that pirate battles would be involved. This assumption would be correct, as the Goro Pirates find themselves in pursuit of stolen treasure from the Devil Flags. The Devil Flags have a few different hideouts, and a few captains that need to be taken out.

With Captain Yakuza out of the way, the crew should have a strong enough reputation and captured enough of the Devil Flags to set a course for Flame Heaven, the toasty hideout of Captain Ronin. If not, there are a few Devil Flags locations in the waters near Madlantis, Rich Island and Hawaii. The number needed for entry is a three-star reputation and 130 Devils Flags.

Review: Yakuza Kiwami 2

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is the best remake yet for the series and the absolute best way to enjoy the franchise’s second entry.

Sunset Island

Sunset Island is the first stop in Fire Heaven. Simply sail to the island, select your four best crew members, and show the Devils Flags what happened to Captain Yakuza’s crew. The Fire Goddess’s Brazier is the treasure that is plundered on Sunset Island.

Heatwave Island

Heatwave Island seems like a strange name choice for an island set in a volcanic ring. It’s not exactly a heatwave if lava is a normal geographic feature. But there are pirates to fight, and treasure to find, so it’s time to assemble four mateys and disembark on Heatwave Island. Put the smackdown on some more of the Devil Flags Pirates, and snatch up their Ring of Volcanoes.

Welldone Island

The only thing well done about this island is how Majima and the crew are going to feel after enduring the heat when they disembark on it. Choosing active volcanic islands as a pirate hideout is a good way to deter unwanted visitors, but there has to be an easier way. Brave the heat, smack around some Devil Flags, and make way to plunder their treasure. This time, the prize is the Volcanic Goblet.

Devil Flags Second Fleet

This is a place where naval battles are nice, as it means no one has to venture onto the charred land away from the nice cooling sea breeze. Simply sail in range of the ship, take a gander at them, and then enter into battle. After the Goromaru cannons have sufficiently damaged the boss ship, it’s time to board them and finish the fight. Taking out this fleet will give Majima the extremely valuable Inferno Stone.

Scorching Heat Island

I have to give credit to the consistency. Every island here is named after how the whole area feels. Apply SPF 100 suncreen to the crew and storm the beach. Taking out the Devil Flags will get Majima the Burning Rug. It doesn’t seem like the most useful treasure, but I guess pirates enjoy the hunt for treasure more than the treasure itself.

Review: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Waking up marooned on a tropical island with no memory of who he is, Goro Majima does the only sensible thing. He becomes a pirate captain.

This is another ship battle. It’s like the earlier one in this area, but this is a fight to get to Captain Ronin. Take out the fleet, and the pirate wearing samurai armor is accessible.

Flame Island

The fleet is no longer protecting the island, so it’s time to take on Captain Ronin. This battle is more involved than the previous ones, but since Majima has his crew helping him out, it really evens the odds. The Dark God’s Guitar is the prize on Flame Island, and like the Violin and Ocarina, it can be a miracle worker in a tight spot. When Majima does a little shredding on the newly acquired axe, a chimp of King Kong proportions appears to show the enemy they aren’t going to make a monkey out of Majima.

Now that Captain Ronin has been dishonored, it is time to set sail for Frost Heaven, the frigid hideout of Captain Shinobi.
